Varithena® polidocanol Microfoam treatment does not require any incisions or general anesthesia.
It can be used for treatment of wide variety of veins
Only 2 or 3 needle punctures using local anesthesia, similar to having a blood test are required.

HOW VARITHENA WORKS-WHAT IS INVOLVED?
The doctor administers a small amount of Varithena through a catheter or by small needle injection into the malfunctioning vein
The Varithena® microfoam fills and treats the desired section of the vein
The diseased vein collapses and the microfoam is deactivated
A compression bandages worn for 48 hours and a compression stocking is worn for 2 weeks
“Normal” activity resumes immediately while heavy exercise is avoided for one week.

80-90% of patients experience significant relief of symptoms and improvement in appearance.
More than one treatment session may be required for optimal results
